3D jewelry viewer and AR try-on for Shopify

To add a 3D jewelry viewer to Shopify, publish an embed in your dashboard and paste its snippet into a product description or a theme block. Shoppers can then turn the ring, try it on their own hand in AR and, with a ring builder, pick options and add the ring to the cart. Embeds come with every paid plan, and on higher plans the Shopify app connects your store so orders are attributed back to your ring builder.

How it works

  1. Publish an embed. Save a design as a project, then in Dashboard → Embeds publish it as a 3D viewer or a ring builder. Embeds come with the Starter plan and above.
  2. Paste it into Shopify. Copy the embed snippet into a product description or a theme block. A ring builder can also go in as the Ring Builder 3D section: copy it into your theme, paste your embed ID in Theme settings, then choose Add section → Ring Builder 3D on any page. The step-by-step answer walks through it.
  3. Connect the store. On the Growth plan and above, Connect Shopify in Dashboard → Embeds links your store by OAuth, with no theme editing needed. The Shopify guide covers the rest.

Try-on on the model hand, for shoppers who would rather not use a camera.

This is the try-on shoppers open from your product page; test it with the model hand or your own camera in the free ring try-on tool.

What you get

  • A 3D viewer on the product page. Shoppers drag to turn the ring and zoom in on it. It is locked to the domains you list.
  • AR try-on in the same frame. With a camera, Try on opens inside the 3D frame, so the shopper never loses the page around it. Without one, On phone shows a QR code that opens the same ring on their phone. On a ring builder or a Media Only set, Hand and box adds On model, a photoreal model hand with a skin-tone picker, and In box.
  • Live SKU and price. In a ring builder the SKU and total update as the shopper chooses, and Add to cart carries a quote the server recomputed.
  • Swatches that follow your variants. With Quick options on the stage switched on, a metal or shape pick changes the ring and selects the matching store variant, so the price and the cart follow.
  • No cart code. Each builder's Pricing and checkout tab sets how a built ring reaches the cart, such as an existing variant matched by SKU, a variant minted at the exact price or a Shopify draft order, so the common install needs no variant id. See cart modes.
  • Order attribution. With the Shopify app connected, signed order webhooks bring store orders back, so the sales your ring builder drove show up as attributed revenue.
  • A photograph for every variant. With the Shopify app, Dashboard → Shopify matches each variant to your ring catalogue (Products), renders every combination (Photos) and writes the photo URLs into your product CSV (Bulk update). Specs and weight reports the exact grams, side stones and carat for each variant.
  • 3D in place of the gallery. A Media Only set (a 360° hero plus stills) replaces your product photos. Its loader hides the gallery and restores it if 3D cannot start.
  • Leads and results. An enquiry form stores a priced lead you can export, and a weekly email reports new leads, pipeline value and the funnel your embeds produced.

Who uses it

Independent jewellers and boutique shops on Shopify that have CAD files but no budget for a photo shoot or a developer. A pasted snippet is the whole install, and the 3D jewellery viewer page covers the viewer on any site.

Direct-to-consumer jewellery brands that sell each ring in several metals and shapes, and need a photograph for every variant. Brands that lead with try-on can read virtual ring try-on.

Agencies and theme developers building jewellery stores. The theme section needs no variant id and no cart code, and it fires rmj:ringbuilder:added so a cart drawer can refresh.

WooCommerce

On WordPress, install the Ring Builder 3D plugin, point it at your builder and a "Custom ring" product, then drop the [rmj_ring_builder] shortcode on any page. Configured rings land in the WooCommerce cart at the price your builder quoted, verified on our server, with metal, shape, carat, size and engraving recorded on the order. See the WooCommerce guide.

Questions

Do I need the Shopify app to show a 3D viewer?

No. On any paid plan you can publish an embed and paste its snippet into a product description or a theme block. The Shopify app, on higher plans, connects the store so orders are attributed back to your ring builder.

Do shoppers need an app for AR try-on?

No. Try-on runs in the browser, inside the 3D frame on your product page, and camera frames never leave the shopper's browser.

Do shoppers viewing the embed use my credits?

No. Viewing and embedding never use credits. Credits pay for exports, such as stills and turntable video, and for AI features.
