Connect Shopify and photograph your catalogue

In Dashboard → Embeds, one-click Connect Shopify links your store by OAuth, and orders flow back through webhooks as attributed revenue. Dashboard → Shopify then matches every variant to your ring catalogue, renders a photograph for each combination, and Bulk update writes the photo URLs into your product CSV. Copy the Ring Builder 3D section into any theme to place a builder.

Connect your store (Pro and up)

In Dashboard → Embeds, one-click Connect Shopify links your store by OAuth. Orders then flow back through secure webhooks so the sales your builders drove show up as attributed revenue, with no theme editing needed.

Photograph your whole catalogue once

In Dashboard → Shopify:

  • Store connects your shop.
  • Products matches every variant to your ring catalogue (search it by SKU or product name, and it tells you exactly why any did not match, with a one-click wording fix).
  • Photos renders each combination, shows every design with its picture, SKU and metal (searchable by name or SKU, and re-shootable one at a time or in bulk), names the environment and camera each shot is taken with, and keeps the library in step with your catalogue (Capture new rings when a design is added, Clean up when one is deleted; counts are in rings, matching the tiles below, and each button photographs only what it names).

Bulk update

Bulk update takes your Shopify product CSV, lets you confirm which column is the SKU and which one the photo URL should be written into (auto-detected, so a standard export is one click), shows the rows it filled, and hands the sheet back. Export all products so every variant is its own row, since it is the Metal Color and Shape on each row that decide which photo it gets.

How photographs are stored

Each photograph is stored as ONE file: the full-size image that goes to Shopify and shows here, in whichever format you pick under Photo settings → File. Re-shooting one replaces what was there rather than leaving the old file behind, and Remove extra sizes clears anything left over from before.

You can re-capture or delete a single design, the tiles you tick, or everything matching what the filter and search box are showing (Re-capture all and Delete all next to the filters). A run keeps going while you work in another tab, and closing the tab is safe: finished photos are stored and the next run resumes.

If a green Recover banner appears above the counts, press it: those photographs are already on your NAS under an old name and it moves them back into place in minutes instead of re-rendering them. Nothing is deleted and no ring is re-shot.

Per-variant Set variant image and Update all images are still available on each builder's Pricing tab. Bulk update also has an opt-in Specs and weight card for exact weights and stone counts; see Weight, stones and cost-based pricing.

Photo settings

A product photograph and a live configurator are two different pictures, so the uploader has its own look: Photo settings inside either uploader.

To set the angle, spin the ring in the preview until it looks right and press Use this view; six named shots (Hero ¾, Straight on, Profile, Top down, Raised gallery, Setting detail) give you a starting point, and exact degrees, tilt, zoom and lens live under Fine tuning.

Everything else (output size/shape/format, lighting, HDR per metal colour, ground, background, materials and engraving) either matches your builder or takes its own value, per field. Editing anything switches the profile on for you (with an Undo), since otherwise your changes would save but never apply.

Changing a photo setting is safe

A photograph is filed under the settings it was taken with (the backdrop, lighting and output size decide its folder, and the camera angle decides its file name), so a change files NEW photographs under a different name. Your existing ones are never touched, never deleted, and keep working: the grid and the Bulk update CSV both fall back to the nearest photograph that really exists, so every tile and every import row stays filled.

They also still count as photographed: changing a setting never moves a ring back into Not yet and never adds anything to your capture backlog. Re-shooting is always your choice: one tile, the tiles you tick, or Re-capture all beside the filters.

If you change your mind, the Photos tab offers a one-click way back (Put my camera back for an angle change, or Restore these settings / Switch to 2048px jpg for a folder change), with nothing to re-capture and no credits spent. And Use these re-files what you already have under the new setting instead; where the change was the gem material or the engraving it tells you how many rings it can put back, matched by band, head and metal.

Any Shopify theme

Copy the Ring Builder 3D section (and its optional page template) into your theme, paste your embed ID in Theme settings, then Add section → Ring Builder 3D on any page. No variant id and no cart code: the builder resolves the line itself, and the section fires rmj:ringbuilder:added so your cart drawer can refresh.
