AR ring try-on: camera, model hand and photo
Try-on opens on My hand, your live camera, because the ring on your own hand is the thing being promised. On model renders the ring on a photoreal 3D hand, and Photo places it on an uploaded or captured hand photo. Fit settings moves the ring to any finger and reads the live ring size, and Adjust fit fine-tunes the automatic placement.

Which mode it opens in
Try-on starts on My hand, your live camera, because the ring on your own hand is the thing being promised, so it is the thing that opens. On model and Photo are one tap away inside. Switch the live camera off and it opens on the model hand, then photo; a mode your plan or the embed has switched off is never opened. If the camera is blocked in your browser it still opens there and tells you how to allow it; it does not quietly send you somewhere else.
On model
The ring on a photoreal 3D hand, rendered exactly like the studio (same sparkle, metal and lighting). Pick a skin tone; the hand turns slowly to show the ring; drag, zoom or tap to stop and inspect it. Choose any finger in Fit settings and the ring moves to the base of that finger, sized to it and turned with it. The stone sits on top; on the thumb and pinky it follows that finger's own angle, as they turn away from the other fingers.
On-body backdrops: in On model mode, pick a lifestyle backdrop (warm studio, blush, slate, champagne) for photoshoot-style renders; the metal and gems stay live 3D. Capture a high-resolution image.
My hand: the live camera
The first time, a short card tells you what to expect (back of the hand, even light, nothing leaves your device) and one tap starts the camera. On a phone hand tracking can take a few seconds to wake up: Initializing hand tracking… stays up until it is actually watching, so the hand outline never asks for a hand it cannot see yet. The controls below still work while you wait, so you can switch to Model or Photo, and a Capture image shot does not wait for tracking to wake up.
Show your hand and the ring tracks your finger, seated at the base of the finger where a ring rests; the band tilts with your finger (flat edge-on when the finger lies across the view, opening into a ring once it points far enough toward the camera for that to be measurable), and the stone sits on top when the back of your hand faces the camera, turning with your hand as you rotate it.
Hold your hand reasonably close: the ring only appears once your finger is big enough in frame to fit it accurately, and a single line above the controls tells you to bring your hand closer, move it back, into the middle, turn your hand to face the camera or open your hand until it is. Nothing is ever drawn over your hand. If your device's graphics drop out mid-session, the ring says Reconnecting… and rebuilds itself rather than going blank.
The ring size chip beside it shows an estimate with its range after a few seconds with your palm flat to the camera (a camera cannot measure exact size), and if you know your size, tap it and enter yours: the chip then shows that instead.
Photo
Upload a hand photo or tap Capture image to take one. The camera opens with the hand guide so you can frame the back of your hand, and the shot you capture becomes the try-on. From any angle, either hand: full-size phone photos, sideways or upside-down shots, dim photos and small images all work.
The ring is placed automatically, centred on the finger you see, laid across it, sized to it, with the stone on top (on the thumb and pinky, turned to that finger's own angle). The placement is automatic; pinch with two fingers (or scroll) to look closer at the stone, and drag to move around once you are zoomed in. The ring stays on the finger either way. Your photo fills the whole view, edge to edge; New photo, in the bar below it, starts over and offers Upload photo or Capture image again. If no hand is found, use a photo of the back of your hand with your fingers visible.
Saving and sharing an image
The download button (⬇) saves a high-resolution image. In the capture flow above it turns back into a shutter, since there it takes the shot rather than saving one. Beside it, ↻ switches between your front and back cameras; try-on opens on the front camera, since that is the one you can watch while you hold your hand up, and falls back to the back camera on a device without one.
Saved images are: in Photo mode at your photo's own resolution or larger (4096 to 6144 px on the long side), in Model mode at three times screen resolution, and in My hand at up to 2048 px on the long side, never smaller than your camera gives. The ring is re-rendered at that size, not stretched, and drawn in extra detail, so it stays sharp when you zoom into the saved image. A spinner shows while it saves. Right after a save, a Share button appears above the controls on phones. It hands the picture straight to Messages, WhatsApp or Mail instead of leaving it in your downloads folder.
On your own site, try-on opens where it already is
Inside the 3D frame on the product page, at that frame's own size, so the shopper never loses the page around it. The ↗ full-screen button beside the close button fills the screen, and the same button brings it back. It no longer takes the screen on its own: the browser handed fullscreen back the moment it asked for the camera, which is what made try-on appear to shrink into the gallery mid-session.
Keyboard, screen readers and reduced motion
Try-on is keyboard and screen-reader friendly: it opens as a dialog that keeps the Tab key inside it, Esc closes it, and focus returns to the button you opened it with. With your system set to reduce motion, the model hand stops turning on its own and the panels fade instead of sliding.
Try-on follows the studio's light / dark setting, and your saved model-hand photo keeps the backdrop you saw. On your own site try-on is always light, whatever the shopper's device is set to.
Fit settings and ring size
Open Fit settings (gear) to move the ring to any finger (thumb to pinky) in every mode, pick the hand (camera), and read the live ring size. The band auto-fits each finger snugly.
Adjust fit (in Fit settings, studio only) fine-tunes the automatic placement: nudge position and depth, Tilt/Spin/Roll the ring around the finger, and trim the scale. Your correction sticks across all try-on modes. Reset returns to pure auto-fit.
Metals, gems and the hand-off to a phone
Swap metals and gems from the swatch bar; changes show on the ring live in every mode.
On a desktop, tap the phone icon to open the same configured ring in try-on on your phone via a QR code (the best camera for AR). If the phone's browser had to reload the page while the camera was running, the link opens on the model hand instead of going straight back into the camera; tap My hand to go live again.
