Jewelry CAD: design a ring from scratch
Open Jewelry CAD from the studio's Design workspace, or at /design. A design is an ordered list of features you can edit at any time: ring bands at real US or EU sizes, prong heads, bezel cups, gemstones, gem seats and pavé, plus freeform primitives, sketches and booleans. Export STL for casting, STEP for other CAD software, 3DM for Rhino, or GLB to render it in the studio.

Parametric workflow
Your design is an ordered list of features in the left panel. Every feature stays editable: select one, change any number in the right panel, and everything after it recomputes on the NURBS kernel. Reorder, suppress or delete features at any time. Undo covers every step.
Jewelry features
- Ring band: US, EU or inner-diameter sizes; D-shape, comfort, flat or knife-edge profiles.
- Prong head: 3, 4, 6 or 8 prongs, taper and a gallery rail.
- Bezel cup.
- Gemstone: round, oval, princess, emerald, pear or cushion, sized in mm.
- Gem seat: a boolean cut with clearance.
- Pavé: stones and seats along the band, up to full eternity coverage.
Freeform CAD
Primitives, sketch extrude and revolve (editable point lists, straight or spline), booleans (union, cut, intersect), fillet and chamfer, move, rotate and scale, and mirror. Combine them with the jewelry features to build your own designs.
Production export
- STL: a watertight casting mesh, with validity checks and a metal weight estimate in your shop's alloy densities.
- STEP: exact NURBS solids for other CAD software.
- 3DM: opens in Rhino and MatrixGold, with Metal and Gems layers.
- GLB: takes the design into the Studio or Playground for photoreal renders, embeds and AR try-on.
- PNG: the current viewport frame.
Saving
Your draft autosaves in this browser. Save to cloud stores the parametric document in your workspace, so you can reopen it and continue on any machine.
